Last time I explained a bit about the pillars of this project, about the first three. Today I want to tell you something about the people part of the project, the fourth pillar.
It needs people in a couple of ways. I already mentioned it needs you, people like you, who read and see, who tell others about it, spread the word, send the link on to others so the project will grow. (mention it to your mom, your boss, that guy on the buss..:))
But the fourth pillar is about those people I know or meet on my travels who have.. who are in one way or the other, big or small, these safe places for others. As I told you, this project is all about places where you can rest, find safety, care, joy, confidence.
So next to the photo’s of the Burrows I am building, the physical immages of a safe haven, we are also making photo’s of the people.. wonderful people.. That friend who is always glad to see you, that friend who is always honest, the one that covers your back, the one that pushes you on. That waiter at the espresso bar who almost every time asks you how you are, the neighbour who collects your mail for you, the colleague who accepts your way of working. The mom, the husband, the kid, the teacher, the bus driver..
People burrows come, as the others do, in all shapes and sizes really.
First to bite the bullet (just an expression..:)) are Katrijn Schatteman (Belgium) and Marijke Verstraeten Smulders (Netherlands)

/ May 23, 2011Oh Elis, you always help me to think long thoughts and say just the important stuff. Well, not JUST but you know… I believe in the deep significance of the burrows people provide. As well as long time periods to process thoughts. Critical. Both.
